The Prophet Guidance on Curing Diarrhea

It is narrated in the Sahihan that Abu Sa'id Al Khudri r.a said;

"A man came to the Prophet SAW and said, 'My brother is complaining about his stomach, or he is complaining about diarrhea.' The Prophet SAW said, 'Give him some honey', The man went and come back later, saying 'I have given him some honey, but it did not help,' or he said,'it made his diarrhea worse'. He repeated this twice or three times, all the while the Prophet continue saying to him, 'Give him some honey'. In the third or fourth time, the Prophet SAW said, Allah has said the truth while your brother's stomach has lied.'"

Honey removes harmful substance that engulf the stomach. honey is a potent cleanser and effective in treating cases of diarrhea, especially when honey is mix with warm water.

Why Prophet SAW repeated his command?

The prescribed medicine should be in sufficient doses; otherwise the ailment will not be fully cured or if too much it will weaken the body and cause side effects.
The cure occurs by Allah's permission.

Giving the correct dose of the proper medicine is the major part of the science of medicine.
